Being a little soupy from the jet lag, as she later confesses to her audience, the Adelaide singer amazed her faithful audience with her powerful yet so expressive vocals, with her throaty bursts of laughter and a quirkiness that won my heart from the first seconds. As one Last FM user beautifully put it, you have to love the planet Sia Kate Isobelle Furler comes from. If I would live on the same planet, I would turn myself into a crazy gruppie and I would follow her around the world just to see her shows. Words are not enough, but little is to say that she took me on an emotional trip and left me in front of the stage, unable to applaud or to talk, feeling uplifted and yet deserted, and these feelings don’t cease to come back to me after three days. She laughed on ‘Girl You Lost To Cocaine’, she mimed on ‘Soon We’ll Be Found’, she danced on ‘Electric Bird’ and she dedicated ‘You Have Been Loved’ to those that have been dumped in love or will be. She remembered her fans back from Zero 7 days with ‘Destiny’ and returned to encore with ‘Breathe Me’, as she promised she’ll do to all anxiety victims in the audience. She even gave us a little preview of the fourth album, which apparently is due to be out in October this year.

Sia says life gets “pretty surreal and awesome” for her. She has been writing tracks for the announced electro Christina Aguilera’s album (collaborations with Goldfrapp and Ladytron make me believe this one is going to be the first album of the burlesque performer that I am going to listen to) and she’s been collaborating with Beck for some new tracks. On her Twitter, she was recently saying “would be so touched to have the same rights as my friends and family”, making reference to Prop 8 and her relationship with gender-bending lesbian J.D. Samson of Le Tigre.

Before she left the stage she showed us timidly the heart sign. We have been loved.
